Mary Black

Mary (Bertke) Black, age 69, of Coldwater, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026 at her home in Coldwater. She was born on December 10, 1956 in Coldwater to the late James & Marita (Wolters) Bertke. She married Timmy Black and he survives in Coldwater.

She is survived by her children, Cody & Misty Black of Coldwater and Joni Weaver of Celina, grandchildren, Jamie, Jasmine, and Jordan Black, Preston and Dillion Freels, Dennis and Riley Weaver, and Chelsey Black, great-grandchildren, Timothy Black, Jensen Freels and one on the way, and sisters, Rosie and Barbie.

She was preceded in death by son, Tim Black, and sister, Norean Bertke.

She was a member of the Coldwater United Methodist Church. Mary was a graduate of Coldwater High School. She was a loving homemaker and adored her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time.
