Mary Ann Thaman age 88 of 9192 St. Rt. 119 Anna, OH died at 6:15 AM Sunday, March 6, 2016 at her residence. She was born June 16, 1927 in St. Patrick, OH to Matt & Marie (Rindler) Hoying and married on May 20, 1947 in St. Patrick, OH to Ralph Thaman who preceded her in death on June 9, 2014.She is survived by children Carol Ann Carity, McCartyville, Jim & Carol (Bell) Thaman, Phenix City, AL; Sharon & James Maurer, Kettlersville; and Ruth Ann & Michael Kohler, Botkins; 12 Grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her in-laws Frank & Jeanette (Steinke-Eustache) Thaman, Sidney; Lawrence & Vera (Seger) Thaman, Botkins; Leo & Barbara Thaman, Arizona and Marilyn (Curtis) Thaman, Ft. Loramie. He was preceeded in death by a son Richard A. (Dick) Thaman, a son-in-law Larry J. Carity, brothers and sisters: Alfred Hoying, Alfreda Dircksen, Sylvester Hoying, Dorothy Meyer, brother-in-laws , Paul, Arthur and Urban Thaman, Sister-in-law Virginia(Eustache)Thaman and 1 Great Grandchild. She was a lifetime member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, McCartyville. She was a member and officer The Sacred Heart Ladies Sodality, a volunteer at the Holy Angels Soup Kitchen, GrandMarshal for the St. Patricks Day Parade in McCartyville in 2009, She enjoyed playing cards and bowling. She was known for her “to die for” Roast Beef sandwichs and Turtle Soup. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 9 2016 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Rev. John Tonkin Presider, burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM Wednesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Church Building Fund, The Center for Neurological Development, Wilson Hospice and Anna Rescue Squad.
