Mary Ann Meyer, age 89, of Coldwater, died quietly at home, as she wished, on Saturday, January 24, 2015. She was born December 9, 1925 in Newport, to the late Frank J. & Emma (Boerger) Borchers. On May 9, 1948, she married Roman L. Meyer, D.V.M., who survives in Coldwater. Also surviving are five children, Susan (Chuck) Aplin of Melbourne, Florida, Jacque Meyer of Celina, Sandra (Aaron) Tian of Raleigh, North Carolina, Jeff (Anita) Meyer of Weeki Wachee, Florida, and Roman Meyer of Coldwater, a daughter-in-law, Peg Meyer of California, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. Additionally three brothers, Orville Borchers of Versailles, Alfred (Mildred) Borchers of Minster and Cyril (Dotty) Borchers of Centerville, one sister, Norma Reardon of Middletown and sisters-in-law, Pat Borchers and Marty Borchers. She is preceded in death by her eldest son, Bill Meyer, a granddaughter, Denise Meyer, brothers, Urban (Elfrieda) Borchers, Paul (Cecelia) Borchers, Jim (Bette) Borchers, Ken (Dory) Borchers, and Dick Borchers, sisters, Frieda (Floyd) Monnin, Hilda (Ben) York, and Betty (Bob) Hibner, brother-in-law, Ed Reardon, and sisters-in-law, Marlene Borchers and Marcella Borchers. Mary Ann attended school in Russia. In addition to being a mother and housewife, she assisted in her husband's veterinary practice. She was a life-time member of the Phi Beta Psi sorority and Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. She was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and loved watching Fox news. She was well-loved for her easy-going personality and positive outlook on life. She will be sadly missed by her many family members and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Friday, January 30, 2015 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday and 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Friday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Memorials may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
