Mary Ann Knapke

Mary Ann Knapke, 90, 12 South Eastmoor Drive, New Bremen passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, OH.

She was born March 19, 1927 to the late Bernard and Victoria (Pleiman) Schulze.  On October 26, 1949, she married John Albert Knapke, who preceded her in death on December 2004.

Surviving are a son, Steven (Lien) Knapke of Tualatin Oregon, a daughter Joyce (Joseph) Magoteaux, Versailles, OH, two grandchildren Scott (Angela) Magoteaux and Jessica (Cory) Griesdorn both of Versailles, 5 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 4 step great grandchildren.  She is also survived by sister Elsie (Ralph) Winner, Osgood, and brothers-in-law Bill Miller of New Bern, North Carolina and Bob Albers of North Star, OH.

She was preceded in death by sisters Vera Schlater, Ginny Miller, Kathleen Bergman and brother Bernard (Bud) Schulze, brothers-in-law Norb Schlater, Gene Bergman, Ralph Winner and sister-in-law Joann Albers.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed playing cards, reading and doing cross-stitch.  She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30AM on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, New Bremen. Burial in St. Martin Cemetery, Osgood. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 3 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday and from 9 AM to 10 AM on Thursday.
