Mary Alice E. Bruns, age 76 of St. Henry, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in her home. She was born February 19, 1939 in Sharpsburg, to the late Arthur & Florence (Zehringer) Rose. On September 4, 1961 she married Donald L. Bruns and he died July 11, 1999. She is survived by a brother Thomas J. Rose of St. Henry, in-laws Dale & Marilyn Bruns, Mary & Bud Granger, Marlene & Jerry Schmitz and Carol & John Ranly all of Ft. Recovery. She is preceded in death by a sister-in-law Alice Rose. She formerly worked at Celina Insurance Group. She was an accomplished organist and played for many years at St. Henry Catholic Church. In recent years she was the organist and choir director at St. Aloysius Church, Carthagena and Immaculate Conception Church, Portland, Indiana. Also, she was organist for first Saturday devotions at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, and for special devotions at the Maria Stein Shrine of The Holy Relics. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church where she was a collection counter, and a member of the Ladies Altar Rosary Sodality and a graduate of Fort Recovery High School. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Thursday, March 19, 2015 at St. Henry Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Recovery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm on Wednesday and 9 to 10 am Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
