Marion A. “Red” Grillot, age 95 of Russia Rd. Russia, Ohio died 8:25 AM Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio.  He was born February 15, 1922 in Versailles, Ohio to the late Alfred & Anna E. (Layman) Grillot.  He married Emily J. Monnin on May 3, 1947 at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, Ohio.  She preceded him in death on February 1, 2013. He is survived by children; Jane Laloge, Piqua, Sharon & Joe Morelock, Piqua, Jim & Diane Grillot, Versailles, Bill & Connie Grillot, Versailles, Kathy & Mike Magoto, Russia, Marj & Ken Gaier, Minster, Charlie & Lisa Grillot, Ft. Loramie, Elaine & Greg Bergman, Versailles, Carolyn & Phil Eilerman, Ft. Loramie, Emily & Paul Turner, Ft. Loramie, Marion J. & Bonnie Grillot, Versailles, Anna Cruz, Versailles, Andy Grillot, Wapakoneta, Steve Grillot, Newport, Julie & Dan Knoop, Sidney, Jenny & Andy Busse, Russia, Jackie & Tracy Frazier, Russia, Gina & Mark Hoying, Russia, Beth Bell, Russia, daughter-in-law Theresa Grillot, Houston, Ohio,  75 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 132 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, sister, Gertrude Glaser, Vero Beach, Florida, in-laws: June Young, Sidney, Richard Monnin, Russia, Carol Dunkel, Russia, Shirley Simons, Versailles, Lyndon & Betty Monnin, Russia, Audrey Monnin, Russia, Jeanette Monnin, Russia, Leona Monnin, Versailles.  He was preceded in death by his parents, son Philip Grillot, grandchild Maria Busse, daughter-in-law Becky Grillot, son-in-law Donnie Cisco, brothers: Adrian & Blanche, Ottis & Lovena, Forrest & Dorothy "Dot", Alfred & Evelyn and infant Raphael Grillot, sister Veronica Metzger, in-laws: Richard Young, Pat Monnin, Ed Sherman, Bill Dunkel, Larry Simons, John & Ruth Monnin, Kermit Monnin, Denis Monnin and Donald Monnin. He was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church and a 1940 graduate of Russia High School. He was an Ensign of the US Navy during WWII as a seaplane pilot.  Marion retired from a career in direct sales and farming and loved gardening, reading and playing cards. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at St. Remy Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Fox celebrant.  Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 11, and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 12.  Burial will take place in St. Remy Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Condolences may be made at www.hogenkampfh.com.
