Marion L . Claxton, age 73 of 1100 Myers rd. Apt. 11 in Celina, Ohio passed away at 5:03a.m. on Saturday March 2, 2013 at the Celina Manor Nursing home. He was born on October 31, 1939 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Oscar & Maime (Valentine) Brummett. Marion Was adopted at the age of 10 by Barney & Mary Claxton. On Sept 18, 1961 he married Martha Sue Kittle, who lives in Celina. Also surviving is his son Joseph Claxton of Celina and a sister Margaret Carrier of Muncie, IN. He was preceded in death by his brothers John Burnett, James Brummett, Charles Vermillion, Robert Donald Brummett, sisters Dorothy Tyler and Elsie Luellen. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. Marion served his country in the U.S. Army from 1958 and retired as a Staff Sergeant in 1999. He was a member of the American Legion Post #210 and a Life Member of the V.F.W. Post #5713 of Celina. Funeral services will be held at 10:30a.m. on Wednesday March 6, 2013 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth G. Alt C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow in Mercer Memory Gardens Cemetery in Celina, with Military Honors. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8p.m. on Tuesday March 5, 2013 at the Funeral Home.
