Marilyn C. Huwer, age 86 of North Star, died on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater, Ohio. She was born January 3, 1940, in Ft. Loramie, to the late Lawrence & Bernadette (Enneking) Sanders.
She graduated from Ft. Loramie High School in 1958 and soon after went to work at G&W Tool & Die until her marriage to Victor Huwer on April 18, 1969. Marilyn and Victor were married for 37 years until his passing on September 27, 2006.
Marilyn is survived by two sons, William & Tamara Huwer of Versailles, and Samuel & Emily Huwer of Troy; and four grandchildren, Brandon & Claire Archey, Tanner Huwer, Justin Huwer and Lindsey Huwer, and two great grandchildren Jack and Landon Archey, as well as a sister Doris Gigandet, and in-laws Frieda Sanders, Mary Alice Sanders, and Dennis Bruns.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marilyn is preceded in death by siblings Bud Sanders, Clem Sanders, Larry Sanders, and Betty Bruns, her father and mother-in-law, John and Regina Huwer, and in-laws Ed Gigandet, Charles & Anna Huwer, Marion & Ivo Langenkamp, and Eileen & Richard Barga.
Marilyn was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star. She was a homemaker and loved watching classic movies. Marilyn enjoyed auto racing, and her and Victor attended many races when they were young, including Eldora and Daytona. She cherished spending time and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2026, at St. Louis Church in North Star. Following the funeral mass burial will take place in St. Louis Cemetery in North Star. Friends and family may call from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry, and from 9-10 a.m. on Monday, June 22, at the St. Louis Church Gathering Room in North Star.Condolences for the family may be expressed in person or left online at hogenkampfh.com.
