Luetta J. Mescher, age 88, of Coldwater, Ohio died on Saturday, December 08, 2012 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio. She was born February 17, 1924 to the late Edward and Coletta (Muhlenkamp) Hartings. On April 24, 1948 she married Urban C. Mescher and he died March 6, 1979. She is survived by nine children, Phyllis & Dan Riesland of Blaine, Minnesota, Ken & Linda Mescher, Ted & Kathy Mescher, Jack & Vickie Mescher, all of Coldwater, Randy & Faye Mescher of Loxahatchee, Florida, Dave & Alice Mescher of Dublin, Mary Jo & Dave Schlater, Angie & Rick Rutschilling, both of St. Henry, and Tami & Alan Kuether of Coldwater, 32 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and three sisters-in-law, Alfrieda Mescher, Mary Maroon and Kate Lechleiter. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church and its Ladies Altar Sodality, and the Coldwater Eagles Auxiliary. She was retired from Briarwood Manor and Celina Visiting Nurses and was a co-owner of the former Mescher's Market in Coldwater. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Chruch, Coldwater, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, Ohio. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hogenkamp Funeral Home- Coldwater. Memorials may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice.
