Lucille M. (Vallo) Coyle, 102, beloved aunt, grandaunt, and great-grandaunt to many, passed away on March 8, 2018 at Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Minster. She was born to Harry and Frances (Rumping) Vallo on November 11, 1915 in Flint, MI. She married Edward (Ted) Coyle, also of Flint, on November 9, 1935. They had one son, Edward P. Coyle, Jr., who died on June 29, 1956 in an industrial accident at the age of 17. She devoted her life to helping others, especially her nephews, their families, and many others, navigate through their lives’ challenges with wisdom and perspective gained during her own life.
Besides her son Edward Jr., she was preceded in death by her husband Edward on November 12, 1990; her parents, Harry and Frances Vallo: all of her siblings, including Mary Margaret Vallo (1913), Virginia M. (Vallo) Geiger (1972), Robert R. Vallo (1995) and Blanche A. (Vallo) Busse (2000). Her survivors include: nephews Dr. Robert R. and Judith M. (Winner), Geiger of Port Clinton, OH; James H. and Martha A. (Bollheimer) Geiger, of Minster; and William E. (Rusty) and Jill L. (Bable) Geiger, of Columbus, sister-in-law Jean Vallo, St. Marys, nephew, Timothy J. Vallo, Oroville, WA, and numerous other relatives in the Flint, MI area.
In addition, she is survived by grandnephews David E. Geiger and fiancée Carrie McMillan Adkins, of Spring Hill, TN; Jonathan W. and Elizabeth (Schreiber) Geiger, of Cincinnati; Andrew R. and Stephanie (Mueller) Geiger, of Blue Ash, OH; Vincent E. Geiger, of Minster; Nicholas L. Geiger, of Minster; Zane W. Geiger, of Chicago; as well as grandnieces Emily L. (Geiger) and Peter Draugelis, of Cincinnati; Bethanna M. (Geiger) and Johnathan Drisaldi, Woodstock, GA, Katherine M. Geiger, of Cincinnati; Bridget R. Geiger, of Salzburg, Austria; Ava L. Geiger, of Cincinnati; and Lila A. Geiger, of Columbus. She also had 20 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
She graduated from Minster High School in 1932 at the age of 16. She was an avid reader and worker of crossword puzzles until very late in her life. She will be deeply missed by all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Saturday March 17, 2018 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster with Rev. Rick Nieberding Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home Minster from 9 to 10 AM on Saturday. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to EWTN.
