Louis William Doenges, age 91, of 8861 Guadalupe Rd., New Bremen, Ohio, died at 8:30 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio. He was born May 07, 1920 in St. Marys, Ohio to William J. & Marie (Oldiges) Doenges. On August 19, 1944 he married Lucille K. (Huecker) in McCartyville, Ohio, and she died March 02, 2005. He is survived by fifteen children, Susan & James Wagner, Celina, Ohio, Andrew & Jan Doenges, New Bremen, Ohio, Joseph & Sharon Doenges, Sugarland, Texas, Nancy & Patrick Fitzgerald, Bowling, Green, Ohio, Fran & Mick Hanselman, Ashtabula, Ohio, William & Edith Doenges, St. Marys, Ohio, Mark & Terri Doenges, Wapakoneta, Ohio, Rita & Ralph Tobe, Coldwater, Ohio, Greg & Carol Doenges, Philothea, Ohio, Therese & Bill Pohlman, Versailles, Ohio, Edward & Marge Doenges, New Bremen, Ohio, Kathleen & Rob Tucker, Radford, VA, Barb Doenges, Kuwait City, Kuwait, Jeff Doenges, Bethesda, MD and Amy & Shawn Brady, Springboro, Ohio, 39 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, a brother, Vernon Doenges of Wapakoneta, Ohio, a sister, Mary Lee & James Wissman of St. Petersburg, Florida and a sister-in-law, Irene Doenges of Minster, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two brothers, Wallace Doenges and Jess Doenges. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Panama Canal Zone. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Chickasaw V.F.W., a former Franklin Township Trustee and member of the Mercer County Planning Commission. He was retired from the former New Idea in Coldwater and was also engaged in farming. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Montezuma, Ohio, Fr. Rick Friebel, CPPS, officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery, Montezuma, Ohio with full military honors. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater on Thursday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
