Louis R. Bruns, age 88 of 2641 Goettemoeller Rd. Maria Stein, Ohio passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at The Gardens at St. Henry. He was born July 24, 1923 in St. Rose, Ohio to the late Charles & Anna (Meier) Bruns. He married Mary Evelyn Schmitmeyer on September 8, 1948. She preceded him in death on November 15, 1989. He is survived by children Mary Jane & Charles Hileman, Celina, Shirley & Roger Schlater, Versailles, Martha & Rich Schmackers, St. Henry, David & Joyce Bruns, St. Henry, Stan & Mary Lou Bruns, Maria Stein, Linda & Doug Watercutter, St. Henry, Louis, Jr. & Cathy Bruns, Maria Stein, 29 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 brother-in-law Henry Heitkamp, Maria Stein. He was preceded in death by an infant son Joseph, 2 great grandchildren, brother & sisters, Richard & Alice Bruns, Hilda & Andrew Homan, Alvira Heitkamp, Mary Ann & Cy Fortkamp. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and the men's sodality of the church. He was a retired lifelong farmer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Thursday January 19, 2012 at St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Rose, Ohio with Rev. Thomas Brenberger celebrant. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
