Lloyd L. Schwieterman, age 75, of St. Sebastian, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Born on September 10, 1949, in Celina, he was the beloved son of the late Lawrence and Leona (Stachler) Schwieterman. Lloyd was a devoted husband to Kathy (Frilling) Schwieterman, whom he married on August 24, 1973, in St. Marys. Together, they built a loving family and life in St. Sebastian.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Kathy, and their children: Jason & Andrea Schwieterman of Maria Stein, Laura & William Hutchison of Chester, New Jersey, Karen & Bart Homan of Chickasaw, and Jodi & John Thompson of Hohokus, New Jersey. He was a proud grandfather to Haylee, Caleb, and Ava Schwieterman, William, Emma, and Ivy Hutchison, Brandt, Clara, Eva, Garret, and Sierra Homan, and Alexis, Rhys, and Brooks Thompson. He is also survived by his siblings and in-laws, including Leeroy & Judy Schwieterman, Dan Schwieterman, Vernon & Judy Schwieterman, Myra & John Hileman, Kay & Tim Wenning, Stan Schwieterman, Art Schwieterman, Bill & Ellen Doenges, Joann Liming, Deb Frilling, Tom & Deb Frilling, Mary Lou & Jerry Bambauer, Deb & John Kilbury, Paul & Kris Frilling, Sharon & Doug Jeanneret, and Ed & Shelly Frilling.
He was preceded in death by his siblings and in-laws, Edith Doenges, Joe Schwieterman, Alvin Schwieterman, Anna Schwieterman, Gary Liming, and Dave Frilling.
Lloyd was a dedicated member of the St. Sebastian Catholic Church and actively participated in the St. Sebastian Men’s Sodality. He served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps reserves for six years and was a former post commander for American Legion Post 571 in Maria Stein. His community involvement extended to the F.O.E. Eagles Aerie 2279 in McArthur, Ohio, the Farm Bureau, and he was a lifetime member of the NRA.
Professionally, Lloyd retired from Minster Machine and enjoyed farming. In his leisure time, he cherished attending his grandchildren's activities, hunting, fishing, and gardening.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, St. Sebastian. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, April 24, from 2 pm to 7 pm and on Friday from 9 am to 10 am at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
