Leona A. Steinemann age 92 of 02725 Minster Ft. Recovery Road, Minster died 6:49 AM Monday at Elmwood Nursing Center New Bremen, Ohio. She was born January 26, 1919 in Ft. Loramie, OH to John and Anna (Schlater) Borchers and married on January 31, 1940 at St. Michael Church in Ft. Loramie to Carl B. (Jim) Steinemann he died August 30, 2007. She is Survived by her children Karen and Ben Dwenger, Connie and Rich Bergman, Ann Stucke, Kevin and Bonnie Steinemann all of Minster, 17 Grandchildren and 27 Great Grandchildren. A son-in-law Del Stucke is Deceased. Also Surviving are two sisters Agnes Winner of New Bremen and Mary Lou and Homer Bornhorst of Ft. Loramie, two sisters in-law Luella Borchers and Henrietta and Sam Dosek both of Ft. Loramie. Deceased include six brothers Clarence, Herbert, Anthony, Louie, John and Al Borchers and four sisters Martha Hilgefort, Mildred Barhorst, Emma Kaiser and Helen Barga. Leona was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster Bereavement Coordinator for the parish for 20 Years and the Resurrection Choir of the church. She was also a member of the American Legion Aux. Minster, the Farm Bureau Council Advisory Council and a homemaker who enjoyed playing in many card clubs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday December 9, 2001 at St. Augustine Catholic Church Rev. Rick Nieberding Presiding, burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 PM till 8:00 PM Thursday and 9:00 AM Till 9:30 AM Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster. Memorial donations may be made to The Glenmary Missions or Elmwood Nursing Center Activity Fund.
