Lee Irvin Slife, age 83, of 113 Ada Ave. in Celina, Ohio passed away at 4:20a.m. on Tuesday Jan. 4, 2011 at the Celina Manor Nursing Home in Celina, Ohio. He was born on April 13, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Louis Andrew & Helen (Lee) Slife. On May 19, 1945 he married Doris Nell Justis, who died on April 19, 2004. Survivors include his son Bernard & Sylvia Slife of Celina, daughter Betty A. Lennartz of Celina, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Lee graduated from Kiser High School in 1944. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Lee was then employed by the Dayton Police Department in Dayton Ohio for thirty years as a Patrolman until he retired in 1978. He was a member of the Celina First Presbyterian Church, he was a member and a Past President of the Fraternal Order of Police OH044 Capt John C. Post Lodge #44 in Dayton, a member and a past Trustee of the Celina American Legion Post #210 and a member of the Masonic Lodge #0147 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30a.m. on Saturday Jan. 8, 2011 at the Celina First Presbyterian Church in Celina, with Rev. Dave Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8p.m. on Friday Jan 7, 2011 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
