Lawrence W. Thaman

Lawrence W. Thaman, age 96 of Botkins, Ohio, died at 10:55 PM on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Otterbein St. Marys. He was born on July 26, 1926 to the late Frank & Mary (Berning) Thaman in McCartyville. On July 8, 1948 Larry married Alvera Seger at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie. Vera preceded him in death on August 18, 2022. He is survived by a daughter Elizabeth (James) Cole, Sidney; sons William (Kathy) Thaman, Milford Center, Ohio, Mark (Mary, dec) Thaman, Anna, four grandchildren, William (Bonnie Schall) Thaman, Nicole (Gavin) Patch, Cassandra Cole and Gregory (Trisha) Cole, seven great grandchildren, one brother, Frank (Virginia, dec) Thaman, one sister-in-law Isabella (John, dec) Subler.  In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by five brothers: Paul Thaman, Ralph (MaryAnn) Thaman, Arthur (Luedna) Thaman, Urban (Marilyn) Thaman, Leo (Barbara) Thaman, brother-in-law Linus (Juanita) Seger, and five sisters-in-law: Bernadine (Carl, Sr.) Clune, Rosella (Cyril) Monnier, Mary Ida (Delbert) Grilliot, Anna Seger and Ruth Seger. Larry was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Botkins. He was the co-owner of Thaman Milk Hauling, Inc. and worked at Copeland Corp. He was a past Kiwanis Lieutenant Governor, served on Botkins Town Council and was a scoutmaster Larry & Vera enjoyed traveling and wintering in Ft. Myers, Florida. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Thursday,18, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins with burial to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster on Wednesday, May 17 from 4 to 7 PM and from 9:00 to 9:45 AM on Thursday.
