Lavern W. Kuess, age 78 of S. Mulberry St. Chickasaw, OH died at 10:45 PM Monday, Jan 30, 2012 at Mercer Health in Coldwater. He was born November 13, 1933 in Chickasaw to the late Roman & Justina (Evers) Kuess. He married Esther Walterbusch on October 28, 1961 in Maria Stein. She survives in Chickasaw. He is also survived by children: Mike & Nancy Kuess, Chickasaw, Roger Kuess, Chickasaw & Robert & Catherine Kuess, Ft. Recovery, 6 grandchildren & 1 deceased, brothers & sisters; Mildred & Edwin Prenger, Coldwater, Ernest & Gladys Kuess Coldwater, Elmer Kuess, Celina, Dolores Muhlenkamp, Portland, IN, Irene & Paul Heckman, Dalhart, TX, brother-in-law Clarence Tuente. He was preceded in death by sister Dorothy Tuente, sister-in-law Irma Kuess & brother-in-law Alvin Muhlenkamp. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, the Men's Sodality of the Church, VFW Post 9019, Chickasaw and Life member of the Knights of St. John, Maria Stein. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a retired farmer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Rev. Gene Schnipke Celebrant. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2:00 PM to 8:00 Pm on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012. Burial will be in Precious Blood Cemetery.
