Laura H. Behr

Laura H. Behr age 71 of Sidney, Ohio, died at 8:09 PM on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at St. Rita Medical Center, Lima. She was born on April 11, 1947 in Celina to the late Cletus & Viola (Homan) Homan. She married Thomas Behr on March 11, 1989 in Sacred Heart Church, McCartyville. He survives in Sidney.  She is also survived by siblings: David & Joan Homan, Hoagland, IN, Sandra Clune, Mainville, OH, Alvin & Eileen Homan, Minster, Gary & Jane Homan, St. Henry, step mother Lillian Will Gaerke Homan, Coldwater, step siblings: Gary Gaerke, Coldwater, Dennis & Andrea Gaerke, Port Huron, MI, Linda & Allen Lefeld, Coldwater, Nicholas & Janice Gaerke, Centerville, Terry & Phyllis Gaerke, Coldwater, Marlene & James Balster, New Bremen, Leonard & Lucy Gaerke Coldwater, in-law Cynthia & Ken McNett, Wapak, mother-in-law Marilyn Behr, Botkins, Cathy & Mark Varno, New Knoxville, Carol & Steve Monnin, Botkins, Tony & Robin Behr, Greenville, Connie Behr, Lima, James & Leah Behr, Sidney, Christina & Doug Armstrong, Sidney, Carin & Ron Thornhill, Anna and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by step siblings Lou Ann Gaerke and David Gaerke, father-in-law Cyril Behr and in-law, Richard Clune.  Laura was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, McCartyville, where she was a Eucharistic minister, Mission Commission, Ladies Rosary Altar Sodality, Parish Council, Funeral Coordinator, and taught Preschool CCD Classes.  She also volunteered at the Sidney Soup Kitchen and Maria Stein Retreat Center.  Laura lovingly devoted her time and energy to anyone who needed her.   Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, McCartyville with Rev. Steve Mondiek celebrant, burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, December 27, and at SACRED HEART CHURCH on Friday from 9 AM to 10 AM.  In Lieu of Flowers the family requests donations be made to the Sacred Heart Church and to Missions.
