Larry E. Schmiesing

Larry E. Schmiesing age 67, of Anna died on Friday, April 29, 2016, at his home. He was born on May 1, 1948 in Sidney, Ohio to the late Wilbur & Ann (Prenger) Schmiesing. He married Janice Frilling on May 24, 1969 in Ft. Loramie, Ohio, and she survives in Anna. He is also survived by five children: Pam & Mark Heitkamp, Anna, Donna & Brad Welch, Ft. Loramie, Bruce & Angie Schmiesing, Degraff, Monica Grieves, Anna, and Renee & Chad Cooper, Ft. Loramie; grandchildren Michalia, Zachary, Nicholas, Emily, Brittany, Kyle, Courtney, Dylan, Kalei, Mason, Travis, Shane, Trevor, Brooke, Kaitlyn, McKayla, Cassie, Bryce, Scott, Jacob, and Logan; great grandchildren: Ian, and Navayah. Larry is also survived by his siblings: Lois Drees, Versailles, Marvin & Judy Schmiesing, Anna, Judy & Mike Cechvala, Anna, and Tim & MarNell Schmiesing, Anna. He was preceded in death by a grandson Joshua, and brother in-laws Mike Marshal, and Paul “Whitey” Drees. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, McCartyville, and was a lifelong farmer and commercial truck driver. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, McCartyville, with Rev. John Tonkin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, May 2 and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice.
