Larry J. Goffena, age 71, of 5226 Erastus Durbin Rd, Coldwater, Ohio, died at 8:31 PM on Monday, July 18, 2011 at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford, Ohio. He was born August 15, 1939 in Greenville, Ohio to Ralph & Isabelle (Cramer) Goffena. On January 16, 1965 he married Barbara (Giere) in Coldwater, Ohio, and she survives in Coldwater. He is also survived by five children, Susan & Scott Riedlinger of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Carole & Don Mayes of Castleton, Vermont, Janelle & Tom Wehrman of Coldwater, Ohio, Jim & Robin Goffena of Irmo, South Carolina and Bob Goffena of Dayton, Ohio, three grandchildren, Sarah and Andy Riedlinger and Nicholas Wehrman, and a sister, Sharon & George Treon of Versailles, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, NRA, former board member of Gateway Outreach and former St. Anthony Parish Councilman, usher and Eucharistic minister. He owned and operated Larry's Barbershop in Dayton & Celina until 1978, and was retired from Sinter Metal, Van Wert, Copeland, Sidney and Huffys, Celina. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, Ohio. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater on Friday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Memorial may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice.
