Kenneth J. Rammel

October 3, 1931 — January 25, 2024

Kennth J. Rammel, age 92, of St. Henry, died on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.

He was born on October 3, 1931, in Celina, to the late Charles & Josephine (Garman) Rammel.

On September 8, 1962, Ken married Shirley (Chrisman) Rammel.  Ken and Shirley were happily married for over 61 years until Shirley’s passing on December 1, 2023.

Ken is survived by five children, Joyce & Greg Gepfrey of Kettlersville, Patrick & Kimberly Rammel of New Bremen, Keith & Paula Rammel of North Star, Vicki Topp of St. Henry, and Sharon & Bryan Kinninger of Anna, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and in-laws, Gene & Kitty Buschur of Coldwater.

In addition to his wife and parents, Ken is preceded in death by siblings and in-laws: Ruth & Sylvester Hartke, Dorothy Rammel, Maurice & Joan Rammel, and Charlene & Ralph “Cappy” Stammen, and his father and mother-in-law: Kenneth and Caroline Chrisman.

Ken was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in St. Henry.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict.  Ken worked for many years at Lefeld Plumbing in St. Henry.  He enjoyed gardening and flowers, fishing, and chopping wood even up until the age of 89, despite his children’s wishes.  Ken also enjoyed his friends in “the morning coffee club” at The St. Henry Nite Club.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at St. Henry Catholic Church.  Following the funeral mass burial with military honors will take place in St. Henry Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4-7pm on Monday, January 29, or 9-10am on Tuesday, January 30, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.  Memorial contributions may be made to either The Gardens at St. Henry, or the St. Henry Church.  Condolences for the family may be expressed at hogenkampfh.com
