Kathleen "Kathy" Kohne (Egan), age 65, passed away on January 22, 2026. She was born July 12, 1960 in Carteret, New Jersey to the late Vincent Egan and Rita Branka (Bowker). She was married to the late Richard "Dick" Kohne for 36 years. She was also preceded in death by her stepdad, "Pop Pop" John Branka and her niece, Colleen Watt. She is survived by two children, Christopher (Marie) Kohne of Chicago, IL, and Melissa (Aluor) Kohne-Nyamor of Cincinnati, OH; Grandson, Elliot Kohne of Chicago, IL; brother, Vincent (Lori) Egan of Flemmington, NJ; sister, Particia (John) Coleman of Manchester, NJ; one niece, Tracy (John) Coyle of Lyndhurst, NJ; three nephews, Patrick (Michelle) Watt of Brick, NJ, Thomas (Nicole) Watt of Tom's River, NJ, Bryan Egan of NJ; two brother-in-laws, Don (Mary Lou) Kohne of FL, and Jim (Barb) Kohne of Reading, OH; three sister-in-laws, Diane (Kim) Bellard of Mason, OH, Pat (Gary) Scheer of OH, and Mary (Steve) Brownfield of KY; and many more beloved nieces, nephews; and her dog, Zoey.

Kathy met her husband, Dick Kohne, at work while he was visiting her company in New Jersey and they married on October 15, 1988. They moved near his hometown in Ohio to start a family. Kathy was a loving mother, aunt, sister, and grandmother who especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Elliot. She shared a close bond with her dog, Zoey, who was her constant companion. Kathy's faith in Christ was an important part of her life and guided her values. Proud of her Irish heritage and New Jersey roots, she enjoyed the comforts of familiar foods and traditions of home. Kathy had saltwater in her veins and when she visited the Jersey shore, she became a kid again. She had a lifelong appreciation for animals and volunteered at an animal shelter when the family lived in Kettering, Ohio. Many summers Kathy could be found tending to her vegetable and herb garden. Her green thumb kept the inside of their home looking like a greenhouse all year long. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed relaxing with supernatural and science-fiction movies and books. She always felt fortunate to live in Celina, surrounded by close friends and family, who took special care of her after Dick's passing. Her warmth, sense of humor, and free spirit will be missed by her loved ones.
