Joseph Edward Werling, age 39, of 117 Tobe Rd., Ft. Recovery, Ohio, died Monday, November 14, 2011 in Burkettsville, Ohio. He was born June 30, 1972 to Edward & Sally (Kunk) Werling, who survive in Burkettsville, Ohio. On November 24, 2000 he married Kendra (Bergman) in Osgood, Ohio, and she survives in Ft. Recovery, Ohio. He is also survived by two daughters, Ava and Shayna Werling, both at home, seven brothers and sisters, Mike & Julie Werling of St. Henry, Ohio, Carol & Mike Broyles of Vandalia, Ohio, Maria & Brad Bubp of Piqua, Ohio, Joan Werling of Burkettsville, Ohio, Steve & Sarah Werling of Troy, Ohio, John & Julie Werling of St. Henry, Ohio and Rose & Jason Harrod of St. Henry, Ohio, mother-in-law, Karen Bergman of Yorkshire, Ohio and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Brent & Holly Bergman of Yorkshire, Ohio, Shannon & Mike Budde of Minster, Ohio and Brad & Jonica Bergman of Yorkshire, Ohio. He is preceded in death by two infant children, Isaiah and Noelle, grandparents, Ray & Emma Kunk and Albert & Eleanor Werling and father-in-law, Don Bergman. Joe was a 1991 graduate of St. Henry High School and a 1995 graduate of Wilmington College with an Agriculture degree. At Wilmington he was a member of the TKB Fraternity and played 4 years of football serving as captain his senior year. He was employed at Werling & Sons for 14 years where he was Vice President and Plant Manager. He was past president of the Ohio Association of Meat Processors and presently was serving on the Board of Directors. He was a past volunteer & first responder for the Burkettsville Fire Department. He was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church, Burkettsville, where he belonged to the Holy Name Society and served as an usher. He was also a former CCD teacher and member of the Marriage Prep Focus Group. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Burkettsville, Ohio.
