John G. Wermert, age 93, of St. Henry, Ohio (formerly of St. Sebastian and Coldwater) died at 2:30 AM on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at The Gardens at St. Henry. He was born November 03, 1918 in St. Sebastian, Ohio to the late Herman & Rosa (Severt) Wermert. On May 02, 1942 he married Mary Ann (Holdheide) in Coldwater, Ohio, and she died April 07, 2000. He is survived by seven children, Velma & Carl Wuebker of McCartyville, Ohio, George & Judy Wermert of Teutopolis, IL, Paul & Norma Wermert of Coldwater, Ohio, Marita & David Fullenkamp of St. Henry, Ohio, Don & Della Wermert of St. Henry, Ohio, Ruth & Paul Rutschilling of Maria Stein, Ohio and John & DeAnna Wermert of Murfreesboro, TN, 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a son Mark Wermert, a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret & Charles Jutte, a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph & Clara Wermert, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry & Bernadette Holdheide, Rita & Ralph Dorsten, Gregor & Marie Holdheide and Anthony Holdheide. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater and the Holy Name Society of St. Sebastian. He worked at the former New Idea in Coldwater and was a farmer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 02, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio with Fr. Barry Stechschulte, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery, St. Sebastian, Ohio. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater on Thursday from 2:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.
