John Wayne McGough, age 67, of 208 Portland St. in Celina, passed away at 9:00a.m. on Thursday June 30, 2011 at the St. Ritas Medical Center in Lima. He was born on Feb. 16, 1944 in Celina to the late Wallace & Genevieve (Stiner) McGough. On Jan 27, 1973 he married Sharon Hanna, who lives in Celina. Survivors include his children Tambra & Josh Kimmel of Celina, David & Nikki Hole of Celina, Tracy Hole & Nikki Riley of Celina, 5 grandchildren Dustin & Krista Wyatt, Abbey Wyatt, Jonathan Hole, Britton Hole, Marissa Hole, great grandchildren Tristan Wyatt, Aislyn Wyatt, brothers Wesley McGough of Hicksville, Frank (Judy Gant) Mcgough of Kettering, Sister Jane (Herbert) Tobias of New Lebanon, Jeannette Balou of Rockford, and Kathy (Bob) Rutledge of Rockford. He was preceded in death by his brother William (Cindy) McGough, sisters Joan (Les) Staugler, Roseann (Dick) Teboe, and sister-in-law Rosemary (Jolly) McGough.
John graduated from Celina High School and then he served his country in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967 in Vietnam. He received a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He retired in 2009 from CAPT in Celina. He was a member of the Celina V.F.W. Post #5713.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday July 6, 2011 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Richard Van Horn officiating. Burial will follow in Swamp College Cemetery with Military Honors by the Celina American Legion Post #210 & the Celina V.F.W. Post #5713. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8p.m. on Tuesday July 5, 2011 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. V.F.W. Post & American Legion membership services 7:00p.m. on Tuesday.
