John Milton Buterbaugh, age 84, of 6761 Debra Ave. in Celina, Ohio passed away at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday The Laurels Shane Hill, Rockford, Ohio. He was born on August 06, 1927 in Hagerstown, Maryland to the late John N. and Corrine (Reightler) Buterbaugh. On February 23, 1952 he married Joy Tyson, who lives in Celina. Also surviving are his children Gary & Deb Buterbaugh of Mechanicsburg, PA., Lori & Michael Prude of West Palm Beach, FL., Jill Cherni of Celina, 7 grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and his sister Jeanine & Joe Sheeran of Drexel Hill, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter Denise Buterbaugh. John graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1945. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a Claims Adjustor for the Harleysville Insurance Co. Then became Vice President of Sales for the Celina Group Insurance Company and retired from the Shelby Insurance Company. John was a member of the

St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Celina, a Life Member of the V.F.W. Post #5713, a member of American Legion Post #210, Celina Moose Lodge, Celina Garden Club, and a member at the Fox's Den in Celina.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00p.m. on Friday, Dec.9, 2011 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Jeff Conrad officiating. Military honors will follow John's services by the Celina American Legion and V.F.W. Color Guard. Friends may call from 4-7p.m. on Friday at the Funeral Home.
