Joan Pleiman

Joan Pleiman, age 77, of Maria Stein, passed on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at her residence. She was born June 25, 1939 in St. Anthony to the late Joseph & Apollonia (Stammen) Homan. On August 4, 1962 she married James Pleiman and he survives in Maria Stein. She is survived by four children: Mary Ann (Mark) Stucke of Versailles, David (Laura) Pleiman of Maria Stein, Dean Pleiman of Maria Stein and Diane (Nick) Steinke of Coldwater; eleven grandchildren: Jamie (Thomas) Heckman, Lyndsay (Jacob) Dirksen, Mitchell (Lindsey) Stucke, Matthew Stucke, Shelby, Garrett, Trent and Emma Pleiman, Maddie, Molly and Claire Steinke; five great grandchildren; two sisters Bernice Frey of Osgood and twin sister Mary Ann Young of Huntington, Indiana; in laws Pat Homan, Marilyn Homan, Mary Dahlinghaus, Bob Van Leeuwen, Helen Grogean, Ellen & John Grilliot, Nick & Rosie Pleiman, Jerry Pleiman, Johanna Harlamert-Koesters & Charles Koesters, Teresa & Bill Winner and Linda Pleiman-Ranly & Herb Ranly. She is preceded in death by siblings Lillian & Orlie Flatt, Delores & Don Replogle, Jean Homan, Donald Homan, Zeno Homan, Hilbert Homan and in-laws, Walter Frey, Jack Young, Edward Sr & Margaret Pleiman, Irene Pleiman, Sister Grace Mariam Pleiman, Ed Jr. Pleiman, Norbert Dahlinghaus, Dolores Van Leeuwen, James Grogean, Jan Pleiman, and Larry Harlamert. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Cassella. She was a homemaker and retired after 34 years of service at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minster, she also volunteered at the Maria Stein Spiritual Center.  Mass of Christian Burial for will be held 10:30 am Saturday October 22, 2016 at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Cassella. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm on Friday and 9 to 10 am on Saturday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
