Joan C. Heckman age 92 formerly of Minster died at 3:15 PM on Thursday February 27, 2014 at Coldwater Community Hospital. She was born on May 30, 1921 in Wapakoneta, Ohio to the late Anthony & Cora (Fisher) Heinl. She married Robert J. Heckman on June 15, 1943 in Minster, Ohio. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2000. She is survived by children Linda & Jimmy Eddins, Gulf Breeze, FL, Jeff & Anne Heckman, New Bremen, Angie & Tom Niemeyer, Minster & Ted & Carol Heckman, Minster, 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, sisters Alice Kuehner, Minster Barb & Denny Meyer, Minster & brother Larry Heinl, Minster. She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Galdie Heckman, 1 great grandchild, brothers & sisters Fr. David Heinl, Mary Heinl, Charlie Heinl & Hilda Morsey. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, former member of the Folk Group, a former Girl Scout Leader and loved to snow ski & golf. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM Monday, March 3, 2014 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, with Fr. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 2, 2014 and from 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Monday, March 3, 2014.
