Janet M. Schmackers age 70 of 2106 Rolfes Road Maria Stein, Ohio died Friday November 25, 2011 in Lima, Ohio She had been ill for six weeks. She was born July 13, 1941 in Burkettsville, Ohio to Ray and Bertha(Bruening) Schwieterman who preceeded her in death. She was married on November 16, 1963 in Burkettsville to Jerry Schmackers who survives along their children Sharon and Marc Wessel of Cincinnati and Terry and Holly Schmackers also of Cincinnati. Two grandchildren Sophia and Julian Schmackers and a Step Granchild Ashley Wessel, one sister Carol and Bernard Bergman, St. Henry and one brother Gary and Kathy Schwieterman of Celina. Janet was a member of St. John Catholic Church Maria Stein and a Choir member and soloist with the church. She was the head librarian at The Zahn Branch of the Mercer County Library in Chickasaw for 30 years, was and avid bicyclist and gardener. a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday November 29, 2011 at 10:30 AM in St. John Church, Rev Thomas Brenberger Presider, burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 PM Till 8:00 PM Monday and 9:00 AM till 10:00 AM Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster. Memorial Donations may be made to the Zahn Branch of the Mercer County Library.
