James H. Lehmkuhl

James H. “Jim” Lehmkuhl, age 84 of Ft. Loramie, died on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Wilson Hospital, Sidney, Ohio.  He was born on July 31, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Clarence & Leola (Meyer) Lehmkuhl.  He married Mary Ann Broerman on October 13, 1961. She preceded him in death on October 17, 1978.  On April 9, 1981 he married Phyllis Benanzer and they were married for 43 years working side by side on their farm.  He is also survived by children: Tina & Mark Bulle, Sidney, Stacey & David Smith III, Sidney, Terry & Mandy Lehmkuhl, Ft. Loramie, James Lehmkuhl, Sidney, Matt Lehmkuhl, Sidney, Jacquelyn & Travis Russell, Botkins, Justin & Brooke Lehmkuhl, St. Particks, grandchildren: Nick & Nathan Bulle, Michael, Jasmine, Brandon, Isack Smith, Hayden, Emmitt, Tyson, Brody Lehmkuhl, Finn, Hildie, Russell, Vivian Lehmkuhl, great grandchildren: Barrett, Huntleigh, Layklyn Smith, Karli, Gracie Grooms, brothers & sisters: Lillie Bruns, Dave & Marlene Lehmkuhl, Janet Harting, sister-in-law Rosanne Lehmkuhl, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Ed & Karen Benanzer, Janice Benanzer, Bill & Lisa Benanzer, Jane & Dale Deloye, and many loving nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents-in-law, Edward & Hilda Benanzer, granddaughter Alexis Smith, brother Tom Lehmkuhl, in-laws: Jack Bruns and Ray Harting. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Goat Farmer and Farm Bureau member. He was a lifelong farmer, loving husband, father & great grandfather. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Ft. Loramie with burial to follow in St. Michael Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 4 to 7 PM and on Tuesday, March 12 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
