James A. Bernhold age 67 of 252 S. Hanover St. Minster, Ohio died at 11:45 PM on Saturday August 9, 2014 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born on October 31, 1946, in Minster, Ohio to the late Maurice & Elizabeth (Westerheide) Bernhold. He married Catherine Byron on November 26, 1971 and she survives in Minster. He is also survived by son Christopher Bernhold, Minster and daughter Katie & Jaime Murphy, Mechanicsburg, PA and grandchildren James, Harper & Larkin, brother Rolly & Mary Bernhold, Minster, & sister Barbara & Don Bollheimer, Minster. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. He graduated from Minster, High School in 1964, The University of Detroit in 1968 with a B.S. and The University of Detroit Law School in 1971 and was a 4 year member of the St. Francis Club. He was first employed Gould, Bailey, Farquahar & Green in Dayton and then at Kenneth Bailey and finally a sole practioner in Minster. He was former member of the St. Augustine Cemetery Board and former President of the Parish Council. He was a member and past president of the Minster Civic Association, former board member of the Minster Boy Scouts and instructor at Merit Badge College for the past 2 years. He was a member at Arrowhead Golf Course, member of the Miami Eire Canal Corridor Association, a member, chapter photographer and membership director of Miami Shawnee Chapter Harley Owners Group. He was a former member of the Victors Club at the University of Michigan and of the Shivas Irons Society. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 Thursday, August 14, 2014 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Ohio with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 and from 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Thursday, August 14, 2014.
