Ivo E. Schwieterman

Ivo E. Schwieterman, age 90, formerly of Burkettsville, Ohio, died on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.  He was born October 19, 1931, in Burkettsville, Ohio to the late Edward (Eleonora Kramer) Schwieterman.  On January 26, 1952, he married Mary Ann (Reichert) Schwieterman in St. Henry Church, and she preceded Ivo in death on August 9, 2016.

Ivo is survived by five children: James & Trina Schwieterman of St. Henry, Steven & Joan Schwieterman of Springboro, Elaine & Luke Wilker of St. Henry, Brenda & Dan Hoying of St. Henry, and Dale & Diane Schwieterman of Liberty Township; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and in-laws: Merdella Schwieterman of St. Henry, Edna Reichert of Coldwater, Kenneth & Elaine Reichert of St. Henry, and Joan & Phil Rengers of Chickasaw.

In addition to his wife and parents, Ivo is preceded in death by an infant son Daniel Schwieterman, siblings and in-laws: Clericus & Alvera Schwieterman, Arnold & Luella Schwieterman, Louis Schwieterman, Matt & Coletta Schwieterman, Cordula & Norbert Schmitz, Rita & Ronnie Wannemacher, Helen & Cletus Schmitz, Cy Schwieterman, Lavern Reichert, and Ruth & John Stelzer.

He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, and the Holy Name Society at St. Bernard.  Ivo and his wife Mary Ann co-owned and operated Ivo’s Restaurant in Burkettsville.  Ivo was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War.  He was a lifetime member of the Ft. Recovery American Legion, Post 345, and the Ft. Recovery VFW.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Monday November 22, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville, Ohio.  Burial with military honors will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.  Friends may call on Sunday November 21 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.  Please join the family for a celebration of Ivo’s life, open to the public, Monday November 22 ^nd , from 12:00 noon - 3:00pm at Romer’s Catering in St. Henry.  Memorials may be made to EverHeart Hospice.  Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
