Irwin R. "Sparky" Baumer age 88 Formerly of E.

Fourth St. Minster and a resident of Otterbein St. Marys for 18 Months Died Sunday November 6, 2011 at 7:30 PM at Joint Township Hospital in St. Marys. He was born May 26, 1923 in Minster to Bernard and Bernadine (Sextro) Baumer they preceeded him in death. He was married on May 19, 1947 in Wapakoneta to Eileen T. Eisert she died January 9, 2009. Survivors include his children Daniel and Catherine Baumer of Orlando, Florida, Linda Baumer of Minster and Beth and Jim Hinker of Minster. Six grandchildren Ben and Josh Baumer, Edward, Samuel, Kate and William Hinker and 7 Great Grandchildren. A sister Alma Halsey of Brookville, Ohio. He was preceeded in death by 2 brothers Philip and Sylvester Baumer and 1 sister Jean Trissel. Sparky was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Minster, Lifetime Member of the American Legion Minster, Veteran of Foreign Wars Minster, F O E 1391 Minster, Army veteran of WWII in Europe. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Minster Firing Squad. He was retired from G & W Tool and Die and Later Marwell Products in 1986. He was also a monument salesman for Ft. Recovery Monuments, Volunteered at Joint Township Hospital and worked at St. Augustine Cemetery. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at St. Augustine Church in Minster, Rev. Rick Nieberding Presider, Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 PM Till 8:00 PM Wednesday and 9:00 AM Till 9:30 AM Thursday at Hogenakmp Funeral Home in Minster. Memorial Donations may be made to Otterbein St. Marys Life Enrichment Center.
