Irene A. Lochtefeld

Irene A. Lochtefeld age 93 of Newport, Ohio died at 12:08 AM on December 8, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living Center Piqua, Ohio.  She was born on December 4, 1924 in Wendeln, Ohio to the late Henry & Mary (Ording) Vagedes. She married Lavern “Bud” Lochtefeld on August 9, 1945 in Wendeln and he preceded her in death on July 5, 2000. She is survived by children: Janette Young, Gettysburg, Karen & Ray Massie, Troy, Rosemary & Mark Knupp, Sidney, Susan Cooper & Dave Gade, Tipp City, Alice & Edward “Buzz” Wise Jr., Covington, Diane & Tony Dunlevy, Newport, David Lochtefeld, Smithfield, VA and Lisa & Mark Woehrmyer, Newport, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren & 1 great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Theodore & 1 grandchild Shawn.  Irene was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Newport and served as the Supreme Officer for the Knights of St. John Auxiliary.  She was a lifelong homemaker and seamstress. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Newport with Rev. Steven Shoup Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, December 11, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 12.
