Howard L. Overholser, age 94, formerly of Coldwater and Dayton, died on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Alterra Sterling House in Beavercreek. He was born October 1, 1920 in Cambellstown, to the late Everett A. & Helen C. (Stephen) Overholser. On June 12, 1948 he married Catherine S. (DeWinter) in Dayton and she died September 17, 2013. He is survived by two daughters and sons in law Carolyn (Alan) Weaver of Beavercreek and Joan (David) Groth of Urbana, Missouri, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and brothers and sisters, Clara Hutchins of New Paris, Ruth Thomas of Florida and Leonard Overholser of New Paris. He is also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Katharyn Beanblossom, Margaret Hicks, Carl Overholser, and Reed Overholser. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and the Coldwater American Legion. He worked as an draftsman/engineer at NCR in Dayton for 30 years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. Friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
