Howard E. Bruggeman age 85, of Maria Stein, Ohio died on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was born on February 23, 1941 in Coldwater, Ohio to the late Edward & Catherine (Buening) Bruggeman. On June 30, 1962 he married Marlene Zumberge in Precious Blood Church, Chickasaw. She survives in Maria Stein. He is also survived by children & spouses: Dale (Carla) Bruggeman, Dublin, Ohio, Cindy (David ) Oldiges, Xenia, Kevin (Karen) Bruggeman, Maria Stein. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, siblings: Larry (Becky) Bruggeman, Maria Stein, Mary Pierron, St. Henry, his in-laws, Mary Wilker, St. Marys, Rita & Tom McEldowney, Greenville, Tom (Tryg) Zumberge, Curtis, Ohio, Sharon (Jerry) Siegrist, Chickasaw, Karen Zumberge, Coldwater, Kay Bruggeman, St. Marys. He was preceded in death by siblings: Virgil (Doris) Bruggeman, Werner (Dolores) Bruggeman, Velma (Leonard) Dietz, Ginny (Lavern) Bruggeman, Eileen (Ken) Otting, Don (Mary) Bruggeman, Joe Pierron, Dorothy Zumberge, James Zumberge, Rita (Noll) Zumberge, Charles Wilker. He graduated from Marion Local High School in 1959. He enjoyed vacationing with his family, especially the Outer Banks. He was an avid Reds fan and loved following the sports of his grandchildren. He was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. He was a excellent and meticulous carpenter for Baumer Construction for 45 years. After retiring he worked for Cabinetry by Ebbing for many years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, Ohio. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery Maria Stein. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 3 to 7 PM and on Tuesday, April 7 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grand Lake Hospice and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Building Fund, Maria Stein. Condolences may be left at www.hogenkampfh.com.
