Helen A. Schmiesing, age 94, of Minster, OH, died 6:40 PM on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster, OH. She was born November 3, 1916 in Minster Ohio to the late Henry & Cecelia (Puthoff) Schmitmeyer. On May 24, 1939 she married Leonard Schmiesing at St. Augustine Church, Minster. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1997. Helen is survived by four children: Kaye & Ferdinand Wint, New Bremen, Dwight & Mary Jo Schmiesing, Minster, Betty & Frank Cespino, Canton, MI, James & Peg Schmiesing, Minster, brother & sisters, Elizabeth & Roger Zoll, Kalkaska, MI, Margaret Dicks, Sedona, AZ, Eugene & Treva Schmitmeyer, Minster, in-laws Herbert Boerger, Minster, Neoma Hoying, St. Henry, Mary Schmiesing, Ft. Loramie, Harvey & Viona Schmiesing, Egypt, John Schmiesing, Minster, 7 grandchildren & 8 Step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren & 21 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband 2 grandchildren Christine Showalter & Matthew Wint, sisters Gertrude Schmiesing, Norma Schmitmeyer, Janelle Schmitmeyer, son-in-law Virgil Wingelwich. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Rosary Alter Sodality, Farm Bureau, numerous unofficial card clubs, and was a lover of all animals. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, March 11, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Minster on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
