Helen K. Schemmel age 98 formerly of New Bremen, OH and Eagle Dr. Minster, OH, Died 2:00 AM Sat. March 10, 2012 at Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Minster, where she had been a resident for 5 years. She was born July 27, 1913 in Sidney, OH to Albert and Zita(Guissinger)Kloeppel. She was married on November 19, 1930 in Sidney to William M. Schemmel he died January 21, 1991. Helen is survived by her children Mary Ellen and Dwight Kurtzman of Van Wert and Ronald Schemmel of New Bremen. A daughter Dolores and her husband Paul Opperman of New Bremen preceded her in death. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was the last of her family 2 brothers Gerard and Leonard Kloeppel and 1 infant twin sister Catherine are deceased. Helen was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster and a former member of Holy Redeemer Church and the Ladies Sodality of the church in New Bremen. She had been a cook at New Bremen Schools and retired from Auglaize School in New Bremen. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday March 14, 2012 at St. Augustine Church, Rev. Rick Nieberding presider, burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. Friends may call from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00 AM until 9:30 AM Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster. Memorial donations will be used for masses at The St. Charles Seminary Chapel. Condolences may be left at
