Harold J. Winhoven, age 87 of Coldwater, died on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. He was born June 2, 1927 in Coldwater to the late John & Marie (Buschor) Winhoven. He married Esther (Pax) on July 25, 1953, and she died December 22, 1999. He is survived by six daughters, Diane & Sam Lemaster of Beavercreek, Jan & Steve Goodwin of Ft. Wayne, Laura & Jack Young of Dayton, Donna & Lupe Felan of San Antonio, Texas, Joan Young of Coldwater, and Teresa & Paul Billings of Silver Spring, Maryland, a daughter-in-law, Carrie Winhoven of Greenville, 18 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Ann & John Steinbrunner of Coldwater and Rosella Winhoven of Celina and a brother-in-law, Bill Mattingly of Coldwater. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Winhoven, and brothers and sister, Virgil, Paul, Vernon, and Ralph Winhoven and Marita Mattingly. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and the Coldwater American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
