Gretchen Anne Hayes, age 83, of 208 E. Forest St. in Celina, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday Aug. 19, 2014 at the Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She was born on Nov. 8, 1930 in Celina, Ohio to the late Raymond & Cora (Bollenbacher) Fetters. On March 15, 1950 she married Gordon Hayes, who died Oct. 22, 1999. Survivors include her three sons & daughters-in-law Stephen & Kathleen Hayes of Waynesfield, Michael & Lori Hayes of Celina, Jeffery & Carol Hayes of Celina, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, sister Sharon Genereux of Elkhart, IN. Gretchen was preceded in death by one grandson and her sister & brothers-in-law Mary Lou & Joe Coons and Don Genereux. She was a very active member of the Mt. Carmel Church of God and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a former employee of the Rockford Locker and a Farm Wife. She was a former secretary of the Mercer County Fair Board. She always had time for her grandchildren and loved to read, garden and watch the birds. Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday Aug. 23, 2014 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Mark Wakeland officiating. Burial will follow in Swamp College Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 2-8p.m. on Friday Aug. 22, 2014 and 1 hour before services on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
