Giles Ronnebaum, age 90, of Montezuma died at Lima Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. He was born July 22, 1928 in Montezuma to the late Henry & Helen (Bomholt) Ronnebaum. On March 12, 1977 he married Eileen (Moeller) Meyer and she died December 28, 2013. He is survived by his in-laws, Richard Sommer, Sidney, Betty & Jim Harting, Ft. Collins, CO, Dan & Lucy Moeller, Maria Stein, Charles Moeller, Minster, Pat & Sue Moeller, Montezuma, Mary Albers, Minster, Lavern & Nancy Moeller, Montezuma, Jane Heitkamp, Montezuma, Kris Rutschilling, Montezuma, Therese & Robert Wilson, Camden, NY, Donna & Terry Temple, Montezuma, and Melvin & Susie Moeller, Montezuma, Barb Moeller of St. Henry, Larry Albers, Minster, and Richard Rindler, Montezuma. He is preceded in death by a sister Mary Ann Sommer; in laws, John Moeller, Virginia Rindler, Carolyn Albers, Rhonda Moeller, Carl Albers, Dale Hinders, Bob Huffman and Gary Heitkamp. Giles was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma, an active member of the Coldwater American Legion, Flying Farmers, Southshore Sportsmans club and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was the former fire chief in Montezuma, and was a lifelong farmer. Giles was also an avid pilot and a member of the Civil Air Patrol.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma. Burial with military rites will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Friday and 9 to 9:45 am Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
