George F. Koester age 98, formerly of 31 N. Main St., Minster, Ohio, died 4:15 AM at Otterbein St. Marys. He was born May 14, 1913 in Minster to the late Joseph & Elizabeth (Drees) Koester. On October 9, 1941 he married Alvira Liesner in Minster. She preceded him in death on January 22, 2008. He is survived by daughters Ann & Bill Ernst, Minster, Ohio and Sue & Kurt Kremer, Minster, Ohio, 6 grandchildren, Kelly, Sandy, Chris & Pam and David & Jill, 13 great grandchildren & 4 great great grandchildren, sister Rita & Walter Kremer, Dayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by parents, wife Vera, sisters Henrietta Woehler & Lorena Minoque. George was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, the church choir and Minster VFW. He was a veteran of WWII and worked at Post Printing for 40 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Friday, October 14, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Ohio with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, Ohio from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2011 and from 9 to 9:30 AM on Thursday, October 14, 2011. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster, Ohio, with full military honors provided by Minster Firing Squad.
