Genevieve G Vogt

She was born July 24, 1919 to the late Henry and Rose (O'Parka) Poss in Sparta, Wisconsin, where she was raised and graduated from college. She met her husband of 59 years, Jerome Edward Vogt, while he was stationed at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin and they married on June 6, 1942 at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Jerome passed away on August 16, 2001 and Genevieve had lived in Athens, Tennessee for the last 7 years.

Genevieve worked as a teacher and later was a librarian at the Coldwater Public Library for 28 years, she was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, the Phi Beta Psi Sorority, the Coldwater American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed years of bridge club membership. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be truly missed.

Surviving are four daughters and spouses, Barbara Evans and her husband, Wayne of Ten Mile, Tennessee, Mary Rose Vogt and her husband, Bruce Jacobson of Frederick, Maryland, Gerrie Ann Barnett and her husband, Robert of Park City, Utah, and Margaret Hansen Huber and her husband Robert of Athens, Tennessee, eight grandchildren, Tracy Evans Willett, Jerome Evans and his wife Jennifer, Rachel Barnett, Dan Barnett, Ariel Hansen, Anna Hansen, Heather Stone and Heidi King, six great-grandchildren, Noah, Aaron, Pierce, Drake, Miranda and Camryn and two sisters, Rita Row of Alberta, Canada and Margaret Stellick of Onalaska, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, a sister, Dorothy Wagner, five brothers, Henry Ronald Poss, Harold Poss, Eugene Poss, Robert Poss and Richard Poss.

Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 9, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Athens, Tennessee.
