Francis L. Smith, age 97, of 217 E. Oak St. in Celina, passed away at 12:50p.m. on Tuesday June 28, 2011 at the Gardens of Celina. He was born on Nov.19, 1913 in Coldwater, Ohio to the late Louis & Caroline (Schwartz) Smith. On Oct. 18, 1937 he married Anna Margaret Zender, who died March 2, 2007. Survivors include his son Patrick & Janet Smith of Celina, daughters Judy & Joe Otte of North Star, Elaine & Jim Loughridge of Coldwater, 16 grandchildren, 24 great Grandchildren

Francis was preceded in death by his son Gerry Smith, 1 Grandson, three brothers Roscoe Smith, Ralph Smith, and Carl Smith, One sister Pauline Romer.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. A member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1800 of Celina and the Celina Fraternal Order of Eagles Grand Lake Aerie #1291.

He graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic High School in Celinawith the Class of 1933.

He was an accountant for Celina Auto Co. and retired from Sales & Services at Reynolds & Reynolds in Celina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday July 2, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 2-8p.m. on Friday July 1, 2011 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina and before 9:30 on Saturday.
