Florence T. Hemmelgarn, age 91, of Burkettsville, died on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater. She was born June 12, 1925 in Versailles, to the late Joseph & Elizabeth (Bulcher) Grillot. On July 20, 1946 she married Cletus Hemmelgarn, and he survives in Burkettsville. She is also survived by children: Barb & Pat Fullenkamp of Minster, Ron & Patty Hemmelgarn of Lima, Gary Hemmelgarn of Dayton, Ed Hemmelgarn of Greenville, Larry Hemmelgarn of Versailles, Michael & Ann Hemmelgarn of Carthagena, Alan & Rita Hemmelgarn of Burkettsville, Karen & Steve Balster of St. Sebastian, Ann & Tim Schwieterman of St. Sebastian, Mary & Joseph Cox of Painter Creek, and Joan & John Hartings of Lake Waynoka; 19 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and four on the way, and one great-great grandchild. Florence is survived by a brother, Lloyd Grillot of Mississippi, and by in-laws: Paul Hemmelgarn of Dayton, Odessa Hemmelgarn of Dayton, Ruth Westgerdes of Ft. Recovery, Mary & Paul Mestemaker of New Weston, and Louis Schlater of North Star. She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby, a daughter in-law: Sandy Hemmelgarn, one deceased step-grandchild, siblings: Ethel & Francis Treon, Vitalis & Delores Grillot, Velma & Paul Billiter, Agnes & Fred Monnin, Margaret & Albert Baker, Lucille & Wilmer Barton, Catherine & Roger Bashore, and in-laws: Vivian Grillot, Norman & Beverly Hemmelgarn, Cyril Hemmelgarn, Donna Hemmelgarn, Andrew Westgerdes, and Irene Schlater. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville, and the church’s Ladies Guild. Florence was a homemaker, who enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Burkettsville. Friends may call on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry. Condolences may be left at
