Evelyn M. Braun, age 88, of Coldwater, died on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Celina Manor. She was born December 13, 1925 in Celina. Her parents were the late Henry & Marie (Saalman) Severt and Frances (Hemmelgarn) Severt. She was raised from childhood by the late Joseph & Cecelia (Hausfeld) Severt. On November 6, 1948, she married Walter A. Braun, who passed away November 10, 2003. She is survived by eleven children, Bill & Cheryl Braun of Coldwater, Mary Kirkman of Columbus, Ann & Don Wolf of Xenia, Dan & Barb Braun of Grand Rapids, Michigan, John & Pauline Braun of Coldwater, Tony Braun of Atlanta, Georgia, Peg Chesser of Henderson, Nevada, Roger & Jessica Braun of Atlanta, Georgia, Ken Braun of Atlanta, Georgia, Susan & Mike Fennig of Celina, and Mike Braun of Raleigh, North Carolina, 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a brother, Charles Severt of Arizona, two sisters, Jane & Jerry Bertke of St. Marys and Irene & Larry Odoski of Black Mountain, North Carolina, and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Severt of Port Royal Pennsylvania and Mary Jane Severt of Traverse City, Michigan. She is preceded in death by a brother, Norman Severt, and in-laws, Ralph & Penny Braun, Werner & Helen Braun, Herbert & Marlene Braun, Waneta & Ray Becker and Elsie & Ralph Hemmelgarn. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality and the Coldwater V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was also a volunteer at St. Peter Neurological Center, Burkettsville and Briarwood Village. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday and 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Friday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
