Esther A. Homan

August 3, 1925 — February 4, 2017

Esther A. Homan, age 91, died February 4, 2017 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio. She was born on August 3, 1925 in Celina, Ohio, to the late Albin and Rose (Turckes) Muhlenkamp.

On June 18, 1949 she married Victor J. Homan at St. Anthony Church Padua, who preceded her in death on September 30, 2008.  Esther was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Philothea, Ohio. Esther volunteered for eighteen years at the Center for Neurological Development. There she carried out her passion to assist people with disabilities to reach their potential.

She is survived by four children: Jim and Linda Homan of Franklin, TN; Sharon and George Blyskun of Richboro, PA; Steve and Maribeth Homan of Lima, OH; and Debra and Tom Davis of Columbus, OH; nine grandchildren: Andrea Davis of Franklin, TN; Aimee and Robby Davis of Nashville, TN; Elaine and Steve Katrivanos of Potomac, MD; Alex Blyskun of LaJolla, CA; Steven Homan and Emily Pankow of Scarsdale, NY; Sarah and Derek Newland of Lima, OH; Ted Homan of Lima, OH; Brian and Emily Homan of Columbus, OH; and Drew Homan of Cincinnati, OH; eight great grandchildren: Hayden, Camden, Tripp, Barrett, Penelope, Samantha, Olivia, and Samuel.  Also surviving are four brothers: Elmer and Jane Muhlenkamp of Bryant, IN; William Muhlenkamp of Celina, OH; Dan and Janice Muhlenkamp of Celina, OH; and Marvin Muhlenkamp of Bryant, IN; and in-laws: Alfrieda Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, OH; Jeanette Lamb of Findlay, OH; Edwin and Luella Homan of Coldwater, OH; Martina Uhlenhake of Coldwater, OH; Helen Homan of Coldwater, OH; Louis and Mildred Homan of Dayton, OH; Mary Lou Klopfenstein of St. Marys, OH; and Helen and Richard Trigg of Kimberling City, MO.

She was preceded in death by sons: Mark and Greg; grandson-in-law Mitch Davis; siblings: Harold Muhlenkamp, Howard Muhlenkamp, Agnes McCormick, Frank Muhlenkamp, Sally Wuebbeling and in-laws: Rex McCormick, Virgil Wannemacher, Virginia Muhlenkamp, Marjorie Cunningham, Earl Wuebbeling, Ray Homan, Leonore Homan, Alvira Homan, Alfred Homan, Bernadine Homan, Viola Muhlenkamp, Carl Uhlenhake, Tom Homan, Ralph Klopfenstein, and Julianna Homan.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Briarwood for their kind and gentle care during the past few years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Philothea.  Friends may call 3 to 7 pm Tuesday and 9 to 10 am Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, P.O.
