Esther grew up on her family farm on Wessel Road.  She excelled in school and even more so in sports.  Esther was an ace softball pitcher throwing no-hitters and hitting five home runs in one ballgame.  Later she turned to bowling for many years and added trophies to her collection there as well.  She and Bud built their home on Columbus Street in St. Henry, where she lived until she moved to Briarwood 2 years ago.  In her younger years Esther had worked at Hemmelgarn Eggs in Philothea. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.  She was an avid baker and cook, she loved playing cards, especially pinochle, and rooting for St. Henry, Duke, and Ohio State. Esther firmly believed that family came first.  Esther will be remembered by her family as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
