Ernest J. Heitkamp, age 85, of Coldwater, Ohio, died at 10:35 PM on Wednesday, February 09, 2011 at Heritage Manor, Minster, Ohio. He was born August 30, 1925 in Bowling Green, Ohio to Anthony & Rose (Fullenkamp) Heitkamp. On May 13, 1950 he married Rose (Prenger), and she died October 01, 2006. He is survived by three children, Gayle Heitkamp & Don Hemmelgarn of London, Ohio, Peg & Jim Schmiesing of Minster, Ohio and Mark & Beth Heitkamp of Cincinnati, Ohio, a son-in-law, Dan Golden of Flower Mound, Texas, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three sisters, Linda Wenning of Coldwater, Ohio, Mary & Paul Sudhoff of Madison, Indiana and Rosemary Lehman of Dayton, Ohio, three brothers Eugene Heitkamp of Chickasaw, Ohio, Arnold & Nancy Heitkamp of New Bremen, Ohio and Gilbert & Marilyn Heitkamp of Tipp City, Ohio, a sister-in-law, Luella Heitkamp of Ludlow Falls, Ohio and a brother-in-law, Harold Staugler of Dayton, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his wife and parents, a daugther, Elaine Golden, sisters, Mary Louise Heitkamp, Annette Haley and Celesta Staugler, a brother, Ken Heitkamp, and brothers-in-law, Russell Haley, Frances Wenning and Gene Lehman. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Chickasaw V.F.W. and worked at DP&L for over 30 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 14, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, Ohio.
