Emily M. Gephart age 84 of 3495 Elm St. Newport, OH died Thursday Sept. 15, 2011 at Elmwood of New Bremen. She was born June 26, 1927 in Russia, OH to Felix and Margaret(Voisard)Monnin who preceeded her in death. She was married on November 25, 1977 at St. Peter & Paul Church in Newport to John A. Gephart Sr. he died April 2, 2007. Emily is survived by two stepsons John Jr. and Starr Gephart of Newport and Jerrold and Linda Gephart also of Newport. Three step Grandchildren Jeff and Kelly Gephart, Jack and Renee Gephart and Jenny and Aaron Frilling all of Ft. Loramie and 9 Step Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Loretta Bergman of Minster, 2 Sisters-in-law Thelma Monnier of Piqua and Joyce and Francis Goubeaux of Russia. One brother-in-law Bernard Selanders of Houston. Deceased family members include a sister Leah Schwartz and 5 Brothers Floyd, Cyril, Virgil, Lester and Delbert Monnier. She was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Newport and Emily Served the church as a Sister of the Precious Blood from 1947 - 1972, teaching business courses in various places. She Retired from Russia Local Schools in 1987, and was a member of the retired teachers of Shely County. After Retirement from school she worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for St. Pauls United Church of Christ in Sidney, retiring in 1997. She was also a Volunteer for Wilson Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at St. Peter & Paul Church with Rev. Steven Shoup Presider, burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 PM till 7:00PM sunday and 9:00 AM Till 10:00 AM Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster. In lieu of Flowers the family request that donations be made to Wilson Hospice or The Maria Stein Center (Sisters of the Precious Blood).
